Welcome To Our Monthly Newsletter!

In this month’s issue of “5 Things You Need to Know” we talk about the power of Raman technology and those discovering it at Eastern Controls! We also discuss going back to school with Eastern Control’s training courses this fall, as well as the evolution of IIoT and it’s impact on industry now and in the future. Finally, we reveal the unique events we’re hosting this fall, in addition to large trade shows and exhibits that Eastern Controls will be attending and we hope to see you there!

Raman Specstroscopy Sampling – Live!

Eastern Controls is becoming the go-to testing facility for Kaiser Optical Raman Spectroscopy!

Over the previous six months Kaiser Optical Systems, Inc. has been investing heavily in the Eastern Controls team by training our service technicians and providing testing equipment for our Process Training Unit (PTU®).

Throughout the final days of July and part of the first week of August, Kaiser Optical embedded one of their experts to train our dedicated group of instrument technicians on everything Kaiser analytical. Kaiser has also implanted a fully functioning sample analyzer to show off the functionality and diversity a Raman unit can bring to a customer.

Eastern Controls has hosted many groups from life sciences companies to chemical manufacturers to esteemed universities to use our in-house Kaiser Raman unit for live sampling. These groups have been looking to improve production capability or

are looking to extract information at a certain phase in their processes. By being able to get their hands on the unit and fully understand it’s capabilities, possibly even beyond what they originally thought or intended.

Explore what a Kaiser Optical system can help you accomplish! Visit our website to read case studies and product-centric articles. Maybe you’ll stumble on some material you’ve never seen before!

IIoT Evolution

Driving business value for process contol industries through existing systems. Read on to learn more!

In a June article on ContractorMag.com they discuss the evolution of the Industrial Internet of Things, being just that, and evolution. Often times IIoT is presented as a revolution that is changing the landscape of industry, while the technologies have been developing for many years and it can still take many more years to realize its full potential.

There are many levels to the concept and implementation of IIoT. There are countless technologies including connectivity, wireless communication, and networking that are favorable on their own and when combined can offer unprecedented opportunities.

Industrial end users have invested millions towards automation and control systems and replacing them with new technologies is not appealing. With technology maturing as it has users are able to introduce IIoT solutions in phases that shift their physical infrastructure over time, instead of all at once.

The goal of the IIoT evolution is to keep up with the demands of the industry managing assets and risk and security has reached a point where everything needs to be real-time so they can no longer be managed in ways they once were.  To make a positive impact on operational processes, controls need to be fast enough to make decisions, which will result in optimal enterprise performance.
