Position Summary 

The Workforce Development Specialist serves as a strategic ambassador for Eastern Controls and Endress+Hauser, connecting education, industry, and community partners to develop future talent. Working out of our newly constructed, state-of-art, northeast regional center, this individual will lead workforce development programs, apprenticeship and internship initiatives, K-12 STEM outreach, and community engagement efforts that support the organization’s long-term growth strategy. 

This highly visible position works closely with schools, colleges, workforce organizations, community partners, and company leadership to create awareness of career opportunities while developing sustainable talent pipelines. 

Key Responsibilities 

Workforce Development & Talent Pipeline Programs 

  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with K-12 schools, technical schools, colleges, universities, workforce boards, and community organizations.  
  • Promote the process automation industry as an employer and career destination.  
  • Design, coordinate, administer, and continuously improve apprenticeship, internship, co-op, and early career programs.  
  • Create and execute strategies to attract emerging talent into technical and professional career paths.  
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for apprentices, interns, and recent graduates.  
  • Support leaders in identifying and developing internal talent for future career opportunities.  
  • Represent the organizations at career fairs, workforce development events, industry associations, and educational forums.  

K-12 STEM & Career Awareness Initiatives 

  • Serve as the primary ambassador to local school districts, educators, students, and parents.  
  • Generate excitement around STEM, skilled trades, process automation, advanced manufacturing, and career opportunities.  
  • Manage and oversee the operation of the Innovation Studio, including scheduling, volunteer coordination, budgeting, maintenance, and equipment enhancements.  
  • Develop engaging educational experiences, demonstrations, workshops, and learning tools aligned with school curricula and age-appropriate learning objectives.  
  • Coordinate STEM outreach activities both on-site and within schools throughout the region.  

Community Engagement & Shared Services 

  • Lead the planning and execution of the annual Community Career+Education Forum (CCEF) and other workforce development events.  
  • Build collaborative relationships with industry partners, economic development organizations, educational institutions, and community stakeholders.  
  • Develop measurement tools and reporting processes to evaluate program effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.  
  • Research and pursue federal, state, and local grant opportunities that support workforce development initiatives and educational programming.  
  • Collaborate with Endress+Hauser, representative partners, and workforce development networks on talent and workforce planning initiatives.  

Additional Responsibilities 

  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned.  
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve programs, processes, and stakeholder experiences.  

Requirements 

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Workforce Development, STEM Education, Business, Communications, or a related field.  

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in workforce development, education, talent development, community engagement, recruiting, human resources, sales, or a related field.  
  • Exceptional presentation and public speaking skills with the ability to engage audiences ranging from students and parents to executives and community leaders.  
  • Strong relationship-building and networking abilities.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, presentation software, social media platforms, and business systems.  
  • Ability to travel locally to schools, community events, and partner organizations.  

Preferred

We are hiring a Regional Sales Manager to cover our Philadelphia and surrounding regions. This position is:

    • Drive sales and profitability to achieve ECI and Principal Targets. Develop new accounts as well as go wider and deeper into existing accounts.
    • Manage industry project pipeline using CRM tools, opportunities, activities, and sales team.
    • Create relationships with Customers and Principal Partners to develop long-term transparent and trusting partnerships. Utilize entertainment and other sales resources as appropriate.
    • Become established as the go-to product, service, and solution resource for Customers and ECI Principals in the Process Industry. Serve as a “Voice of the Customer” to champion customer needs internally and externally.
    • Understand stakeholders and influencers at key strategic accounts. Coach the sales team to effectively increase hit rate of MRO and project business.
    • Increase product and brand awareness by professionally representing ECI by conducting industry events, PTU Visits, and Lunch and Learns.
    • Monitor industry trends (for example, single-use and verification techniques) and communicate to principals and ECI management. Drive business independently with minimal supervision.
    • Serve as a leader in Industry Associations. Attend trade shows and industry events as required.
    • Coach, Mentor, and Train ECI sales team to fully maximize their potential: understand their customers, their challenges, and their opportunities for improvement. Conduct team meetings on a regular basis (meeting and traveling with each member of your team).
    • Ensure that team members are successfully able to demonstrate and deliver value proposition for key products. Ensure that team members have a keen understanding of new products released by manufacturer. Coach individual staff members to aggressively reach goals: Monthly, Quarterly and Annually.
    • Attends management and other company meetings as required. Sets up and tracks metrics; works with management to set and achieve goals, sponsor sales contests, etc.
    • Engagement with principals, serving as a voice for our principals.
    • Engaging with product managers, product specialists, regional managers, and Spick and Span CRM.
    • Bottom line focused – respectfully challenging the philosophy behind discounting and any “good guy discounts.”
    • Balance between hunter and farmer – manages a balance on the team between expanding “share of wallet at existing customer and constantly looking for new accounts and opportunities.
    • Sales Discipline – Reinforces good quote follow up and pre call planning.
    • Utilization of Sales Tools: ensure that the ECI provided tools are put into use (PTU, AirWatch, Discovery Sales App).
    • Sales Pipeline Management – Driving the sales process from prospecting through acquisition of new accounts and projects.

Requirements

Education/Background: Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline or equivalent experience required. An engineering degree is a plus.

  • Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to influence and persuade others.

The Valve and Actuation Specialist is a highly technical engineering role responsible for the design, selection, and application of valve and actuation systems. Who We’re Seeking: You want to be where the action is! You should be able to demonstrate basic electrical and mechanical knowledge, use of hand tools and electronic testing equipment, and a strong attention to safety and detail. Applicants with any knowledge of electrical and hydraulic actuators and familiarity with pneumatics is a strong plus.

Certifications:

  • Must be able to obtain certifications in all required ECI and Principal programs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TWIC and PSM credentials.
