  • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering is a plus

Role and Responsibilities:

Eastern Controls is offering an opportunity for recent graduates to join the ECI family. The Rotational Engineering Program is designed for new graduates which provides exposure to various departments to develop technical skills and business acumen while gaining meaningful experience for the rest of their careers. Following a corporate and technical onboarding period, candidates will participate in a personalized 7-9-month development program that includes rotations of at least 8 weeks in service, sales, and technical support. Placement opportunities after successful completion of the program include a variety of roles within ECI including technical sales, application support, marketing, and field service.

  • Technical Support Rotation: Provide excellent support to internal and external customers by answering technical questions (primarily post-sales), diagnosing, and troubleshooting product problems involving Endress+Hauser equipment via phone and email.  This rotation will be hosted by our business partner Endress+Hauser at their campus in Indianapolis, Indiana.
  • Applications Specialist Rotation: Assist customers in specifying proper products/applications to meet application-specific requirements, and performing technical research, quoting, and order tracking to support the outside sales force.

Qualification and Profile:

  • Undergraduate engineering degree  or business degree with technical concentration (Business and Engineering Degree, Engineering Entrepreneurship, Industrial Distribution, etc.)
  • Internship/Co-op or work experience in engineering or technical sales field preferred
  • Customer service skills or experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate technical issues clearly
  • Team player who enjoys troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Ability to travel to out of state locations for extended periods of time; candidate should be willing to relocate as needed for the duration of the program

This position entails everyday travel to our varied customer base (including power, energy, process, chemical, manufacturing, life sciences, pharma, food and beverage, and commercial) in Metro New York, Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and D.C. areas to perform assembly and disassembly, assist with troubleshooting, maintenance, calibration, installation, and repairs of our various product lines based on the manufacturer’s specifications.Approx. 15% is overnight, primarily in the spring and fall coinciding with plant outages.The ideal candidate will possess the education, skills, competencies, and availability outlined below:

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree in Technical Field Preferred.
  • Experience as an electromechanical field tech doing calibration and repairs preferred.
  • Demonstrates basic electrical and mechanical knowledge. Any knowledge of electrical and hydraulic actuators and familiarity with Pneumatics is a strong plus.
  • Ability and knowledge of how to use hand tools and electronic testing equipment.
  • Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record.
