Endress+Hauser’s industry-optimized flowmeters have been helping end-users redefine what success looks like in their plants. Their latest innovation comes in the Proline Prosonic Flow G 300/500 series, an ultrasonic gas flowmeter with integrated pressure and temperature sensors for highly accurate, real-time measured values.
With gas reserves still being discovered and tapped into and the demand for natural gas still prevalent the need for robust flowmeters for natural gas, process gas, or gas mixtures is more important than ever. The Prosonic Flow G measures both wet and dry gases with high reliability ensuring precise measured values (±0.5%) with unmatched repeatability, despite significant fluctuation in ambient conditions. This flowmeter operates at process temperatures up to 302 °F and pressures up to 1450 psi and its robust design allows for long-term operation with little to no maintenance, saving the end-user time and money.
Flowmeter Flexibility
The Proline Prosonic Flow G flowmeter reduces complexity and variety with a freely configurable I/O functionality and user-definable gas mixtures for even the most demanding measuring tasks. The measuring principles of the Prosonic Flow G are unaffected by gas compositions and with optional built-in pressure and temperature sensors, the input from these sensors can be combined with the measured sound velocity to calculate a great number of additional gas properties that are important for process control.
This flowmeter and measuring system was developed in accordance with IEC 61508 (SIL) and preferred for use in safety-related applications. There is also added security within the flowmeter in a rupture disk that better controls the discharge of excess pressure in the event of potential leakage.
Extended Gas Analysis
Prosonic Flow G 300/500 can be supplied with an “Extended Gas Analysis” function package, e.g. for special applications or for increased process control requirements. Depending on the selected gas type (pure gases, gas mixtures, coal gas, natural gas, customer-specific gases, etc.), this function enables the calculation of additional parameters and process variables. Some examples are volume flow, corrected volume flow, mass flow, energy flow, calorific value, Wobbe index, gas type, molar mass, methane content (%), density or viscosity
Accessibility: Anytime, Anywhere
The Prosonic Flow G is equipped with Endress+Hauser’s Heartbeat Technology integrated into the device and enables permanent self-diagnostics with the highest diagnostic coverage (>95%) and verifications can be done without process interruptions.
The Proline 300/500 transmitters also include a web server, standard, and with an Ethernet cable and laptop, or wireless via WLAN, provides direct access to all diagnostic, configuration, and device data without additional software/hardware.
Endress+Hauser has also equipped this device with the one-of-a-kind data storage concept (HistoROM) ensuring maximum data security before, during, and after service work. All calibration and device data parameters are stored securely and automatically reloaded after maintenance work.
